King PNoy

In light of the flak that the president has been receiving with regard his purported inefficiency as president of the republic, crafty critics has coined the term Noynoying.

Now now... my friend said that what she's happy about is the fact that PNoy has high trust ratings. She sees this as an improvement from GMA's term when the people had very low morale and took on a very 'defeatist' approach in confronting everyday problems.

She went on to say that PNoy symbolizes hope. That said, I was reminded of how monarchies function in other parts of the world. Could it be that PNoy's there to symbolize something good?

Is being a symbol for hope and a better, brighter future enough? Are we ready for a monarchy?
